Peace
This morning after breakfast we took the number 5 bus to the United Nations building. (It's great here, the hotels give you a free transport card to use within Geneva!) on arrival Ro was really disappointed as the three legged chair - a symbol to those handicapped by war was being renovated and was completely covered up! We walked to the UN building, so well protected by a huge barrier that has one small entrance which can be closed immediately in case of danger. Inside was a mural painted by the Swiss artist Hans Erni who died on 21 March 2015 aged 106. This small portion shows one of the doves-symbol of peace. I really loved this mural. We were told that we had only a short time before the last tour of the morning and we legged it to the other entrance but it was a long way uphill and we arrived too late! Bus back to the centre!
We arrived at a large department store 'Manor' where we did some shopping and had an excellent lunch! From there straight to the Patek Philippe museum. All bags, coats, cameras, telephones etc had to be left in lockers downstairs but I have found a web site: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/photo-report--inside-the-patek-philippe-museum--100--photos
For those interested. This is a wonderful collection of time pieces. There are so many such wonderful pieces. I particularly liked the automata. Little birds popping out and singing or one of Moses tapping on the rock with his staff and water coming out! The enamelled watches, the tiny miniaturised pieces. How many ways are there of saying wow!

Now back at the hotel, having a rest!
