A Day Of Rest
Narrowboat Trip - Day 4
Hello Blipfriends!
Dolly reporting today!
If you read yesterday's blip you will know that we had a VERY long day cruising on the canal and ended up back in Worcester a day early! It was decided that today Rhod would go and do some sightseeing and Mum and I would enjoy some relaxing time on the boat.
BUT! First we had to move the boat as we had been in the Marina last night and Rhod was disturbed by the nearby train line. Mum and I live by the railway so we don't even notice it! So - we went back down the canal a little way, through 4 locks and went onto the River Severn again and moored up there. It was still walking distance for Rhod to see the sights and we had a nice view of the skyline of Worcester - before a great big ugly giant mansion-sized boat came and moored right in front of us! How rude! We were there first!
Anyway - Mum and I enjoyed some chillaxing and we both caught up on a little bit of reading! I had special dog magazines! Mum read a book about the Queen who is having a BIG birthday this year and everyone is going nuts with celebrations. I wonder if the corgis get to share some of the birthday cake?
It was a chilly day but finally the sun came out and we walked along the river a bit and went as far as the Cathedral and had a look. Sometimes Mum takes me inside churches to take a look but she thought this one might be too big and not so easy to sneak me in. Why do we have to sneak? I don't get it!
This evening after Rhod was back and after we had dinner, we went on another walk as the sun was setting. There's a new pedestrian bridge over the river so it was decided we would check it out. For some reason Mum gets excited about bridges! There were a whole bunch of padlocks attached to the bridge. Mum said they were put there by couples in love. She thought they were great but both Rhod and I thought they were a little silly!
It was a great day!
