The Mallard is free

Went out early this morning and met a lovely family who had rescued our injured mallard. They wanted to release him now he is healed. He had been bitten by a dog..We have been treating it for a couple of weeks. Took a while for the large wound to heal. He is a handsome fellow and enjoyed quietly walking off to  creek for a well deserved swim. The guy (who picked him up), is an amazing photographer amongst other things. He showed me his printer (for canvases etc,) a huge contraption.He has offered to print me some canvases.. There are some superb people out there. He has a hallway  full of NZ bird prints he has taken. (We did exchange cards and FB addresses.)
