You look happy to meet me
Just one photo today, of a dewy daisy that greeted me and the dogs at the vet’s - but what a satisfactory day it was! The dogs’ vaccinations are now up to date and better yet, the vet has squeezed in a appointment to get Chacha spayed in time to prevent her from having any unwanted puppies.
The big victory of the day, though, was with the water pump. I had to wait a while before the workshop opened (just a basement tucked away below road level), but it was worth it. Having left the pump there with no very high hopes that they’d be able to fix it, let alone before we went back down to Rio,they phoned an hour or so later to say it would be ready in the afternoon if I approved the cost – slightly under 10% of the price of the new one the Rio technicians told us we’d have to buy, and less than half of what they would have charged to install it. Whoopee! When we arrived to collect it, we met the mechanic (who hadn’t been there in the morning) and he couldn’t have been nicer. He was rightly proud of his work and took pleasure in explaining in detail what he had done.
We both drove back down to Rio with big smiles on our faces.
