Hummingbird Coming in for a Landing!
Evenings are active times for the birds in the yard. And especially so for the tiny green hummingbirds. They love to visit the feeder, and sometimes squabbles break out over which bird it belongs to.
This is one of my frequent visitors, the adorable little male who has appeared in several of my blips before. His visits are often brief. Sometimes he sits on top of the feeder before or after snacking.
In this particular photo, you can see him coming in for a landing. His wings look tiny, and his body looks thick and green, not unlike a small green dinosaur. In a moment, he'll have finished sipping the sweet nectar and head off, back up into the skies from whence he came!
