Uzès Saturday Market

Glad we set off early this morning to drive to Uzès for their Saturday morning market. What an array of stalls! It really takes over the old Gallo-Roman town. Colour and bustle everywhere, as they sold various foods - including cheeses, fruit and veg - as well as clothes, baskets, soap, fabrics, pottery ... you name it!

I did put together a Uzès market mélange, but it's as busy as the market was, so I'll add it as an extra in consideration to those susceptible to headaches. If you look at it and think you see a load of blokes peeing - no, they're a line-up of mannikins' back views, clothed in tee-shirts and trews.

We also saw a less than brilliant busker, whom we last heard in Arles. Is she following us around? After working our way round the market (and buying our picnic lunch), we visited the medieval gardens and climbed up one tower of the Duché Palace for views of the town and beyond.

***Don't miss Flossie's 500th taken at Uzès market on her blipday!***

Back to our house in time to watch a short-lived but dramatic thunderstorm, with fork lightning that we failed to photograph despite our best efforts. Quick as lightning, it was!!

Sun's out again now. Hoorah!
