My First Cygnets

Despite an early set-off at 9am (yes, I was ready to leave on time) we were late getting to the marina. The M6 was so slow after J23.

It was good to be back on narrowboat Solace. 5 of us this time, The Man and I, #2 Daughter and her partner, The Best Mate and his, dog, Ash. Sorry, I suppose that makes 6.


The boat was clean and tidy and responded well as we set off. A new bank of 4 leisure batteries had just been fitted so this time we won’t be out of power in the evenings. HOWEVER, I have stupidly forgotten my slow cooker so we will be cooking by gas anyway!

I knew from blippers that cygnets would have hatched so I was looking forward to seeing my first. Shame about the focus!
