Although L.S.Lowry is most well known for his paintings of 'stick'people'in industrial landscapes,he also portrayed people at the seaside.This figure is inspired by 'On the promenade ' (1955)and 'The Harbour' (1957).I think it really shows a father teaching his son to fish,and being pleased with his success.
