Feeding time (again)
I've added a few backblips from the last few days on a business trip to Vienna and today I was happy to be snapping the back garden blue tit . Both parents are doing a sterling job at feeding the young and cleaning the nest but the strain is beginning to show.
Our box camera showed that we started with 10 eggs but only got 5 chicks, sadly whilst I was away the weather turned cold, wet and windy and less insect food was probably around which in turn meant the 2 weakest chicks died. The good news is that the 3 remaining chicks are well developed and now look like blu tits with full feathers and markings. Fledging is not far away.
