Huge queues for food and drink

Friendly people. Lots of compliments and flirty banter. This man who was about 75 said (told me not asked) he was going to kiss me if he won his bet! Thankfully he didn't. The races seem to be a place where gender stereotypes and fashion rules are very much alive and well. Made fascinating people watching!

Lots of people were in pain because of their heels. My feet felt like they were on fire after 5 hours standing and I had blackly hush puppies on!

Not enough seats

I've never seen so many people trying to negotiate past each other in a polite and wobbly state of intoxication. Many drinks were spilled!
