Homecoming

This was taken in Port Nan Long , in English known as Newton Ferry , a township at the top end of the Island of North Uist.

It is the place where Cathleen was brought up and the building in the picture , next to her Uncle's house ( which was her grandparent's house), is where her great grandparents lived and many generations before I expect.

Her Uncle showed us a photograph of the same building in 1906 which is on the RCAHMS website , in which has figures are standing at various places and which must be her relatives. Worth now ordering a print to see if we can learn more from it.
