Life gets messy, clouded, and overwhelming
It's funny. We talk about how we're too busy, we're broke, we're tired, but really we're just immersed in our own stuff. We create the messes, the storm clouds, and the drowning feeling of being overwhelmed. We've not stopped recently to figure out what we can do without.
I spoke to a friend recently who prides himself on being a minimalist. I ended the conversation having heard about his new car, the 3 different activities he's involved in throughout the week, his wife, kids, his work (well over 40 hrs per week) and the church he goes to, and volunteers in different ministries. What I realized is that he's no minimalist. He then complained about being tired, and overworked. At the same time attributing none of it to anything other than his day job. Business is a death of the spirit. We can not do well, what God has put in our hearts to do if we are constantly doing more than we can handle.
Take a moment today and ask yourself what you honestly have time for. Can you devote yourself whole heartedly to your passions, and your purpose, or are you slice too thin and have holes in all areas.
