Smoke and Azaleas

The evening sun was shining beautifully through the leaves of this Smoke Bush and the Azalea behind it has such a splendid colour that they really needed to be photographed together. My thanks to Lady Marian for drawing it to my attention.

It was a beautiful day once the sun broke through the haze this morning. I thought I'd go out somewhere for my blip but I've been occupied with other things. I was regretting having mowed the single buttercup that was growing in the lawn, it would have made a good one in my occasional series of botanical studies. I don't think I've seen one in our grass before but I've made previous comments about how well buttercups are doing this year. I dare say there'll be another chance.
