The Village Fete
F and W pose happily for their picture with a cardboard cutout of Her Majesty before we entered the village fete this afternoon.
It wasn't exactly sunny, but very warm as we perused the stalls before finding a table for a cream tea (I abstained but had a cup!). The tea tables were arranged in a beautifully set out rose garden, and many ladies were wearing hats.
My son remarked that the scene reminded him of an E.M. Forster novel!!
My granddaughter won a prize for her "crown" and they enjoyed making a rocket and seeing it shoot into the air - the secret was alka-selzer and water!!
A very enjoyable afternoon for the village, and now over for another year!
