Ambush in the jungle
During the dry summer months I always walk down to the village shops along the back lane. Its a mud track which runs through the allotments so during wet weather its too muddy to walk along. In parts it is wide enough for a car to get along but the bit near my house is quite narrow. When I went out of my back gate this afternoon to go to Tesco I was confronted with these two kitties. Fluffy my neigbour's cat and Blackie ( my name for him/her ) a cat which tags along. They stood their ground, I took a blip shot, I moved forward, they stayed put, I moved forward again and finally they shifted.
When I got back from the shops I decided to widen the track a bit by cutting back the " jungle ". The hedge on the left of my shot belongs to the allotment behind it but the allotment holder never cuts it ( why should he ) so I trim it now and again. It was long overdue for trimming. I also cut back some a lot of the foliage on the right.
The weather has been lovely today. So sunny and really warm. Actual " T Shirt weather " for the first time this year. Neil and I sat outside to eat our lunch. Afterwards he went off to meet his girlfriend but I kept on sitting out for ages - getting a good dose of Vitamin D.
Just watched a very interesting TV programme on BBC 4 about the Secret Voices of Hollywood - ghost singers who provided the vocals for many screen legends who were cast in singing roles but who couldn't actually sing. It was amazing to find out just who wasn't actually singing in the films they starred in - Audrey Hepburn ( My Fair Lady ), Deborah Kerr ( The King and I), Rita Hayworth ( too many to mention ), Christopher Plummer ( The Sound of Music ), Rossano Brazzi ( South Pacific ) and Mark Lester ( Oliver ) - to name but a few.
