Tropical Scotland

It's sunny today, the pre-Olympics (thought they didn't start 'till Friday?) continue, and I found this odd vegetation in my father's garden.

I remember journeys home from childhood holidays in far off places (Sweden.. France... Essex...) with seeds and cuttings lovingly cradled in moistened kitchen towel.

This too is clearly someting he's been nurturing through the Scottish 'summer' after importing from some far off tropical land as those blue berries can't be native can they?

Anyway, what do I know? Off to drink some of his fine coffee... it's Mexican I'm sure ;-)
