Spent most of the day at our wonderful friend's beach hut. We were able to just pop down the steps to the sand in a jiffy, but while we lunched, the tide came in and the children had to stay on the promenade.
Within a short time they had created drawings stretching some 10 metres each side of the hut, which caused passers-by to stop and admire and comment on. Amazing what can be done with a few pavement chalks - even the littlest ones (about 3 years old) were having a go and we then attracted a few more children from huts a bit further away.
This is Emma (seated) with her best friend Rosie (in the red top) discussing the merits of modern art versus the traditional.
