A walk in the Botanic Gardens

A wonderful walk round the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens with L and our niece Catriona.  Beautiful weather for walking, taking photographs, catching up with C's news about her new job with Altzeimers Scotland and having what seemed like the biggest icecream cone ever.

When I was young we had a red peony rose in the garden and for many years I thought that all peonies were red ..... how wrong can one be!  The Edinburgh Botanics has many different peonies and they are most certainly not all red!
