If I can't get a real one, I'll have to make do...

She loves all animals. We have a regular collection of ants in plastic containers that we're constantly negotiating for their freedom. No dog that passes us on the street gets away without at least a request for a pet. We're now trying to decide if we give in for her birthday in September and get her some sort of pet. Problem is it will be our job to clean up after it, she's still to young to take on that responsibility on her own... I vote cat, Austen votes rat (he heard they make great pets). The discussion continues.
