Bowood 2016 #17 (Monday 6th June)
For this afternoon visit to Bowood Grounds and Lake I set off, unusually for me, with a particular project in mind. This week's Mono Monday theme was 'Reflections' and I decided to interpret it literally and look especially for reflections in the water. Thanks to Red Flash for hosting.
Monochrome was an additional challenge as I see, dream and fantasize in colour, and am used to working with colour, though I have delved into the world of black and white on occasion. To keep things simple I took only one camera and mostly composed in colour, though I did change the settings so that a few images were recorded only in greyscale.
Having lived with the results for a day or so, this is the image (originally taken in colour) that I think works to best advantage as a monochrome, with the Canada goose on the nest being guarded by her partner in this tranquil corner of Bowood Lake. A more general full-colour view is in Extras.
