Ceiling Obscura

There's a strange effect in my living room that happens when I close the curtains if it's sunny outside. The gap between the curtains and the wall forms a slit aperture and I get a very smeared image of the street outside. It's enough to make out brightly coloured cars when they move but mostly it's just a random, patchy, occasionally brightly coloured area of light.
