Thunder in the Mountains

Days cycling don't get much delightful than this.
Sun above, 5000ft ranges left and right, orchards and rivers at each side, the smell of sage and roses and Weisteria  and basically down hill - with 3000ft of descent in 40miles. We even cycled through an old walled town. Easy, lazy riding even on these chosty indestructible hire bikes.
Merano charmed.
L of her many attributes doesn't much do handbags otherwise our stroll out before dinner would have left me busking or worse.
We stumbled at the threat of a thunder storm into this wine shop that became a restaurant in the evening. I thought of Cynthia and Phil, I'm thinking it must be about 12months since we were Stateside enjoying your hospitality - the food was locally sourced meat and cheese and fine food and I had my the most excellent "craft beer" (they have another term but it was good enough to erase my memory of what that was).
Happy day even if there is a rumble of thunder in the mountains and a deluge of the wet stuff outside the window as we arrived back for our rest before the next leg.
