Safe?
Yesterday the local media was full of the news of a mid-air collision between two gliders at a local event. That one pilot landed and walked away, and the other parachuted and was fine after a brief visit to Addenbrookes didn't stop the radio presenters pushing the idea that gliding was "dangerous".
Anyone notice the nearly two thousand people killed on UK roads last year? What's that - 40 a week? Anyone asking that drivers be required to have better training? No, I thought not.

The air was full of gliders this lunchtime. We must be on the aero-tow path from the airfield at Gransden. I have blurry shots of up to five gliders in one shot but this one, who seemed to have lost his thermals, was a bit easier to get in focus.
