Frustration and joy.
The bad news was that I went up to photograph fly orchids which were doing well on the flat roof of our village reservoir in the woods ten minutes from home.
When I got there I found that men from North West Water had just been and strimmed the whole area. Just doing my job said the man. He admitted he could not tell the difference between a fly orchid and a banana.
My annoyance soon evaporated when I found these lovely Small Pearl Bordered Fritillaries on the Knott.
Finally when I discovered that the Greater Butterfly Orchids in the Cemetery were looking good (see extra) my temperament was fully restored to its usual sunny disposition.
