Cuteness alert!

Meet Penny, the new addition to our friend Annette's household. She is about 8 weeks old and a complete delight. Annette brought her to see us this evening. We sat in the conservatory while poor Bowlby stared daggers through the glass!

Julie came this morning so we could do the visa applications for Russia. To my chagrin, we completed hers and submitted it, but were puzzled that she was not asked about all the countries she had visited in the last 10 years. Then I saw that when I clicked on UK for her nationality, I had misclicked onto the next country also started with United. We had to start again and hope there will be no problems since she has submitted two forms. It's very tricky to get the form correct. They wanted to know the address and telephone number of her training college, which was razed to the ground some years ago.

Mum and I went to the nursery for bedding plants; the centre of our turning circle is finally planted up for the summer. Fingers crossed that our visitors do not drive over it as in previous years.

Scarecrows keep on appearing, including a white ghost in a yew tree in the graveyard.
