Had a tough afternoon when the news came through that my 77-year-old PhD supervisor has been missing since leaving for a walk up in the hills near Dornie on Sunday. He's the reason why I'm where I am work-wise, and strong influence on me taking to the mountains myself. We have to assume he's dead, but how long will his family have to wait until he's found?

In France, the ladies have completed their long (125km) but flat day to Auxerre by following the Yonne, and without encountering any flooding! Their exploits now merit a news-stand poster in the "Tabac" in Mme A's home village. Five more days to go! [Not my photo clearly!]
