Saw a programme years ago about Rothko, didn't really get him before. The key was a transition from a photo , through blurred image to Rothko painting.  For a few weeks now I've had the idea of using a macro lens to capture, in camera, some extreme blurring. After a bit of adjustment to contrast, saturation and structure we have this.  Not quite as abstract as I'd hoped.
