City skyline from Westmere

A run in the dark means a challenge to find something to photograph. As I came downhill from Westmere to Coxs Bay Park, I was struck by the predawn sky below angry looking dark clouds, all behind the Auckland City skyline. I had tried shortly before taking this, to get a slightly similar shot from a bit further up the hill, with the absence of the street lamp, and the addition of a jumbo jet (from LA probably) by the Sky Tower.

I took this picture as well as I predicted that the earlier shot would be very grainy and have a bit of camera shake. Including the street lamp made the skyline a little darker, and also a lot crisper, and decreased the pixillation of the sky. Camera shake was much less.
