Journey forward

Antique

Last weekend, my good lady did a demonstration of artisan bread baking for her women's group at church.
To add a bit of interest, she took along this antique bread maker inherited from her grandmother.

These bread makers were produced in the early 1900's.
The unit is complete in all respects, with plenty of patina and some minor surface rust, but what "character" this piece has.
Etched into the front of the bread pail, it reads......
                          No. 4
                    UNIVERSAL
                 BREAD MAKER
           Awarded Gold Medal
            St. Louis Exposition
                        1904
                     Made by
         Landers, Frary & Clark
        New Britain Conn. USA

The lid has embossed instructions for making bread.
