Care leavers

A busy day. Through to Glasgow to a conference about residential care and care leavers. I was taking part with Lesley from the office who has been working closely over the past few years with WhoCares?Scotland. They wrk with ,support and are increasingly led by young care leavers.

We were presenting jointly what we have been doing with young people, what they have been saying to us and how we have responded. Lesley has produced a "You said: we did" leaflet to show to young people how we have responded.

The session comprised input from and was led by some care leavers ( all had agreed to photographs). This is Alice who also had support from Candice and Ian.

Some encouraging comments and informative discussion.

Then back to the Edinburgh office for a meeting then over to Kirkcaldy to speak at a recognition event for new and established panel members and home by 11.

We also marked the departure of the Fife Area Convener - Fiona - see extra, lady at front - who is standing down. She will be much missed for her leadership and her direct but constructive comments.
