'Tis done.

This is the quilt that I put on my husband David's bed.
It has always been a beautiful object of mixed emotions. It was made for my first child Mr E, but had worked into it the sadness of the lost pregnancies that had preceded him.

The husband of the lady who made it, who. was a fine mentor of mine, died the day before Mr E was born in a tragic training accident.

We placed this quilt on David's bed as an object of beauty and to be something from home in his last days.
I am sad to say that he died on Saturday, not many hours after I took this photo of the foot of his bed.
