Luke Dodd

Jane Bown's archivist, editor, close friend and all round great guy; certainly that was my impression from meeting him after his lecture on her work. Very relaxed and engaging speaker.

Wonderful anecdotes and shared intimacies about her stuff. She is even more firmly up there in the top three of my favourite photographers. She knew that her forte was being fast and decisive. Minimal kit.

Apparently she used to like focusing on the eye furthest from her; invariably at f2.8 and 1/60th.

After chatting with Luke for a few minutes, he was more than happy for me to take his picture. The light was rubbish, and still learning the ropes with the new lens...

So, wide open and happy if I could focus on either eye. And crossed fingers. Hey ho.
