True Grit
We just completed three grueling days of a summer basketball tournament at Country Christian High School outside of Molalla, Oregon, and while our record may not sound great (2--6), the lessons we all learned were outstanding. We found out that this team can play together, and that they have that grit and cohesiveness that will see them through the long winter season. In our final game, we lost in overtime 33-32 to Burns, a team that has finished second in state two years in a row. And they are a goofy bunch as well, and I mean a good goofy. When we break a huddle, we always say "Team", but when we parted after our last game, we said, "Goofy." It's a fun group to be around.
