Yoko Ono

At first glance I thought some litterbugs had run riot in Saltwell Park.
Then I realised it was art. Yoko Ono has been at it again.

This is Yoko's 'Wish trees for Gateshead'. Yoko is "sending out peace and love across the world from Gateshead."

Apparently visitors to Saltwell Park can 'express their hopes and dreams by writing wishes on paper and hanging them on the tree.' Then 'wishes will be gathered at the end of the exhibition, and sent to the Imagine Peace Tower in Videy Island, Iceland, to join the rest of the wishes from around the world'.
