I'm Glad I spent it with you....
Friday evening included many, many half pints of real ale, many of them being "fyne".
The entertainment included much people watching, and the madness of Fyne Fest Music choice which ranged between Have Mercy Las Vegas, Orkestra Del Sol, and our absolute Favourites, Banjo Lounge 4, whose set list included Don't Stop til You Get Enough, It's getting hot in here, Blue Monday, Get Your Freak On, Song 2 all done with a funky, lounge "hayseed dixie on weed" kinda vibe.
We woke up, slightly worse for wear, (I was worse), and managed down for breakfast, which was a bacon buttie from Bumble... We did want "Scoffs" Tattie Scone Breakfast Wrap, but they were running slow too.
By 12 I was ready for the "walk". The walk was a 4km hike up to "The Walkers Bar" . We didn't make it last year (the hangover didn't lift til gone three), and were determined to make it this year. Boots on, we headed off up the road, and up the road, and up the road, and up the road.
It never seemed to end.
Onward and upward, and then a trickle of people coming back down again. "much farther" we asked.... a little way...
And then, it appeared. Well the queue appeared. This was the queue for the BBQ Lamb, and oh, that was the queue for the toilets. and there, in front of us... across the river, was the queue for the beer.
The queue for the beer was about 50 deep, and buried behind about another 100 people sitting on the grass over looking the river. We looked at that queue, and the queue for the Lamb, and decided the beer might run out quicker, so we ran across there for a quick pint. (well quick in the grand scheme of things)
It was amazing.
As Himself said, our Marginal Utility upon receipt of that pint was well positive.
We enjoyed sitting among the other walkers / beer lovers and watched dogs and weans jointly "dip" themselves into the water, and listening to the music. Yip, in addition to the umpteen barrels they had transported up the hill, they also carried the musicians, and of course the lambs bbq'ers.
Then we queued for the lamb, and it was worth the wait. Lamb Reared on the Salt-Flat Marshes of Argyle (we are going to look that up). Nom nom.
And then the walk back.
And after all those steps, I had to have a sleep. It's only natural.
By the time I woke up; the rain had started, but it was only light, and we bimbled down and got our seats in the Main Hall for that evenings entertainment.
My god there's a lot to see and enjoy.
And we had an examine of the Yurts. And we think we shall upgrade to the next year.
Oh yes, we will.
