AVP Seattle Open Second Day

As promised after yesterday's shot featuring men on offense, today's image is about women and their defensive abilities. Our friend Ali McCulloch has just tipped the ball over the block Summer Ross, who played one season indoors at the University of Washington which is located just across the lake. Ross, however, has other ideas about the ball hitting the sand behind her and is making every effort to keep it alive. I don't remember if she was successful on this particular play, but she and her partner Lane Carico did go on to win the woman's tournament fighting through the losers bracket to claim the championship. On the men's side, long time SOB pro Billy Allen won his first tournament with recent partner Theo Brunner.
