birds eating thistle

Our doves enjoy coming to the thistle feeder to get the seeds o the bottom tray. They seem too big for the feeder but never seem to have a problem with it. The extra is a goldfinch on a thistle sock. The sock has lasted a long time. Usually the red-winged blackbirds tear it up getting at the seed but they have not discovered it yet.
