2016 Saturday -- My Prize
A few days back a small business here on California's Central Coast, Chaparral Gardens, that I am friends with offered a prize to whoever selected a name for their new Mexican vehicle.
I took one look and thought "Scarlett." A week later, I learned that I had suggested a winning name. So, I would be awarded a bottle of vinegar. Not just any vinegar, but amazing delicious blackberry balsamic vinegar. I gave them our Cayucos address to ship to, so when we arrived this afternoon, our neighbor brought the package to us.
We immediately opened the package and sipped the vinegar. Oh my! We've never tasted such wonderfully delicious vinegar. So for our evening meal, we prepared spaghetti and I served hot baked french bread that we dipped into the new vinegar. It was absolutely yummy.
This morning shortly after 8:00, we left our southern California home and headed for California's Central Coast to stay for two-plus months. We were in two cars because we wanted to bring some of our things to the place that we hope to make our permanent residence once I retire. We discovered as we traveled the 4+ hours, that we were in "graduation" traffic" all the way to the Central Coast -- in Pomona, in Pasadena, in Santa Barbara, in San Luis Obispo. So that makes three days of graduation/commencement parading.
We are now on the Central Coast. We have crossed the threshold of summer -- ah relief.
