58 years ago in 1958 (6): Trailer Court

During the last 3 days the small family group moved from Detroit to Monroe (Wisconsin), where they stayed with a family they knew from Switzerland and which has migrated to the States. Still today Monroe is famous as the Swiss Cheese Capital of the USA.

Then, on 13 June 1958 they continued the journey, across the Mississippi and entering Iowa towards Spirit Lake, where they stayed for the night. On the way they visited something new for them: a trailer court.
