TechnoOlympiad

So after seven years of preparation, speculation and countless media spin, the London Olympics 2012 will finally be officially underway in a few hours time.

Images of winning the bid seven years ago are still very fresh in my mind. The company I was working for at the time was heavily involved, and several of us were even invited to Trafalgar Square to witness the announcement. The crowd's response and jubilation at the event was something special.

So what could be a more fitting image for today than the Olympic Rings. The five coloured, interlocking rings represent the five inhabited continents united by Olympism.

The title refers to a term recently coined by my favourite band, Underworld, who have composed original pieces of music as well as produced all the music elements in the opening ceremony - I simply cannot wait!
