Clematis

Last year I planted a Clematis and Honeysuckle next to trellis on a new fence at the back of the garden. The soil is very poor so anything planted there takes a while to get established but the Clematis has now opened a few blooms including this one, and the Honeysuckle looks as though it will be covered in blooms in a week or so.

While writing this W has called me through to the side of the house to see a pair of bullfinches feeding in the hedge in the side lane. I don't think we've seen a bullfinch since we moved into this house 22 years ago!
