Bottoms Up!

Today was our school trip to Grafham Water. We took the reception class on a 'Pirate Day' and we all dressed up. The weather was surprisingly good with only a couple of sharp showers. The children did orienteering, a blindfold assault course and, after lunch, we went out on the water. We were split into 2 groups; one in a motor boat and the other a sail boat. The idea was to sail around the reservoir for a while then moor the boats at a beach area and find the pirates' treasure. The sail boat had to be rescued as there wasn't enough wind and had to be towed back. Unfortunately, when we reached the beach, our skipper couldn't get the boats far enough onto dry land to avoid us getting wet feet and all the children and adults had to be carried to shore.
We all managed to get back safely and although a little damp and weary, it was a really fun day with a lot of laughs.
