A quiet moment

Camera on timer and a wee cuddle with the dogs while we wait for the gather to come round. I took a few nice photos today on the gather, great blue sky and lovely clear light right into the distance. I will add my second choice as an extra.

An interesting start to the gather as we got closer to the farm we met the farmer and his partner heading the opposite direction. A yearling heifer was calving. Believe it or not she was bulled at 4 months old when the bull was out with her mother! It was a big calf so all hands on deck and if you saw this farming life it was much like jumbos birth. We managed to calve her and the calf is alive but all a bit sore and weak. We all had a cuppa tea before heading to the hill to gather. It made for a longer day, tired now!

Pip and Breagh worked really well with difficult ewes and lambs, really proud of them today.
