Now Pay Attention...

... rules for Hound owners. Please remember:

1. Two problems exist when owning a hunting dog. The names of those problems are (1a, if you want) Hare and (1b) Deer.

2. It is your responsibility as owner to be one step ahead of the game. Literally, if you can, otherwise figuratively. Both one step ahead of Hounds game, and 'The Game.'

3. Your eyes are your friend, use them as you would use an ally in battle. Know the surroundings you can see. Form a picture of what's coming by watching your Hound.

4. See point 1a or 1b. Literally? React like lightning. Or see it by proxy through the nose of the baying beast before you? React like lightning. And quick!

5. Has your Hound gone? Biscuits are no longer your friend. Sausage is not your friend. Your voice is not your friend. Your whistle is not your friend. You've no friends left. Your eyes were meant to be your friend but because you didn't pay them enough attention they got up and left along with these guys.

6. Use your legs. I hope you're feeling fit!
