Sunrise at The Belvedere
OMG ... never thought we'd beat our first dawn shoot in Tuscany, but this morning surpassed it by a mile! Another 4:45 leave time for the short drive to just below Castiglione d'Orcia. There was already a cloud inversion in the valley below us when we arrived. The Belvedere, surrounding hills and trees were popping out through the clouds and then being hidden again - the scene constantly changing. You could feel and see the excitement on everyone's faces - along with the "wows" "oohs" and "ahhs". It was an amazing morning and we could have stayed there forever! It was a very difficult choice for a Blip today, but in the end I plumped for this one of the sun peeking over the horizon and the Belvedere emerging from the clouds.
The elation continued over breakfast - all of us on a high! After breakfast we stopped off to photograph the windy road at Monticchiello. The red Ferrari didn't make an appearance on the windy road, but we did get a small red car, motorbikes and and bicycles!
Lunch today was at La Porta with free time in the charming village of Monticchiello for photographs and a spot of people watching.
Our shoot this evening was at the Torriniere trees and vineyards - with lovely lime green fields in the foreground and a carpet of fluffy clouds across the sky. As we set up the sun disappeared behind a bank of clouds, but our patience paid off when it finally reappeared and lit up the landscape.
Dinner again in San Quirico d'Orcia before retiring to bed for a well earned rest!
A few extras of this fab day ......
