Misuse of wine

Tonight this bottle of Prosecco decided it was time to be opened. Unfortunately, it did this by itself.  Close to midnight I heard a sharp bang and it took me a couple of minutes to find the source.  Did I say it was a bit scary?  Well, the bottle had been laying on a shelf since we got home from Tuscany a couple of weeks ago and now it had exploded.  It took another 10 minutes to get rid of the fluid and all the broken glass.  I better go back to the store and make a complaint…
