Haunted house

This house was built 1881, and is in the northern part of the Icelandic highlands. Travellers and shepherds used this house to spend nights there, and as a shelter in snowstorm. Below the house (in the cellar) is where the horses were kept. In old folklores is talked about when those shepherds were there, they were terrified because this house is so terrible haunted. I haven't found any stories yet about why this house is haunted, but I'd sure would love to know ..
