Red sky

The clouds have been doing interesting things all afternoon, with a striking layer of rippled 'mackerel' type cloud covering the whole sky, and I was wondering if it would last until sunset - it did, more or less, and I was glad I was out in the meadow by ther river to see it at its best. I then walked back through the eerily deserted streets as no doubt almost everyone else was at home watching the Olympic opening ceremony, which I caught up with as soon as I got back - another spectacular event..
