405 Squadron
I have blipped the stained glass window which commemorates 405 Squadron's contribution as a Pathfinder Squad flying out of Gransden Lodge airfield from April 1943 until the end of the war. Today a group of 10 of young squadron members from Canada paid a visit to our village.
We held a short memorial service in the church and then spent a delightful time in our local pub getting to know our new Canadian friends.
They are here to take part in a walk across the country covering most of airfields their comrades flew from during the Second World War.
Open invites to Greenwood, Nova Scotia.... maybe, one day!
