Changing of the Sentry
Unexpectedly exciting start to the day with the England win which we watched at 9 o'clock this morning.
Then we walked up to the Garrison buildings of the old West Indian Regiment to watch a re-enactment of the Changing of the Sentry as it was in the 1800's, now performed by retired members of the Barbados Legion in the uniforms chosen by Queen Victoria after seeing them on an Algerian tribe incorporated into the French Army. The Veterans & the Barbados Defence Force Band do this once a week and play their parts with great gusto.
We followed this with lunch in the Museum Gardens, smoked Marlin and balsamic salad baguette. Delicious.
